There was a sparse crowd at the NOLA River Fest at the Old U.S. Mint on Saturday, September 13, but the music was hot. Keyboardist Keiko Komaki (pictured above) debuted her new band featuring Seizo Shibayama on guitar, Terry Scott, Jr. on drums, Satoru Ohashi on trumpet and flugelhorn, Ted Gould on bass and Titi Tsira from the Playing for Change band on vocals.
Trumpeter and vocalist Gregg Stafford brought a really tight ensemble playing his trademark traditional jazz with high energy. He had Bruce Brackman on clarinet, Rickie Monie on piano and Jerry Anderson on drums.
