Jazz Funeral for Dr. Lawrence Ketchens
Tuba player and husband of French Quarter mainstay Doreen Ketchens
After the intimate funeral uptown on Friday, February 14, we skedaddled downtown to find the second line following the service for Dr. Lawrence Ketchens. We caught up to the parade, which featured dozens of musicians, on Esplanade Avenue and marched along to the end at Doreen’s Sweet Shop on St. Phillip Street. Doreen can be seen in the photo above, in blue, riding in the pedicab.
