James Andrews and the Crescent City Allstars
With Special Guests Roger Lewis and Derek Houston outside the Kingpin
Spring has sprung in New Orleans and the Kingpin bar is hosting live music again. This past Saturday, March 2, the trumpeter James Andrews brought his killer band. Saxophonist John “Prince” Gilbert of the Tremé Brass Band and baritone horn man Roger Lewis of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band were the veterans in the band. Saxophonist Derek Houston of the Creole String Beans went and got his horn out of his car to join in the second set.
The Panorama Jazz Band will play this Saturday, March 9 at 4:30 PM.
