Gitkin is a side project from Pimps of Joytime’s guitarist Brian J. The musicians brought cool guitar vibes and percussion effects to the Napoleon Street stage around noon time.
The Marigny Street Brass Band is a serious misnomer presenting seriously funky music. They are decidedly not a brass band. Led by the Caesar Brothers, Ricky on drums and vocals and Norman on keys and vocals, the group tore through a set of Neville-adjacent tunes. Norman even came out front to jam with their saxophonist.
Joy Clark impressed with her solid guitar work and great tunes.
Baritone saxophonist and fiddle player Harry Hardin played the whole set with Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, the band he helped start. He traded licks on horn and fiddle as the band fired through a great performance. At the end, they brought up members of Kota Dosa, a young band of Loyola students who were looking at the Wolfpack alumni and imagining a long future as professional musicians.
